The organization's purpose is to focus on the wellness of families, assist the poor and distressed, and combat community deterioration, blighted properties, crime, drug use, and other social problems. Servicing East Baton Rouge communities from 70805, 70802, 70811, 70807, and 70815. BFI's headquarters is New Beginning Baptist Church, 7815 White St, Baton Rouge, La. 70811.
Across Baton Rouge 80% of African American homes are without fathers and run by single mother, grandmother, etc. To strengthen the family in all areas of relationships, such as marital, parental and spousal involvement and in family issues such as decision-making, parenting, substance abuse, education, and juvenile delinquency prevention, BFI Community Outreach is focused on the wellness of families, assist the poor and distressed, and combat community deterioration, blighted properties, crime, drug use, and other social problems.
Gain the knowledge needed to improve health disparities in African American community in North Baton Rouge by providing access to health education and assistance to overcome Obesity & BMI, Diabetes, Oral Health, Colorectal Cancer, Tobacco Use, Sleep Patterns, Exercise and Stress. BFI offers access to healthier food options, assistance with better healthcare, and mental health services.
BFI - Wilson, ReCast conducted 1,188 home-based counseling sessions focusing on the effects of depression caused and associated with the condition of COVID - 19. There were 39 families where pre- and post-assessment showed a decrease in depression symptoms. BFI provided 28 juveniles with 1,008 home-based counseling and site based after-school based on BFI's Anger Management Assessment by Adrian Faupel.

In collaboration with AKCCL, BFI churches, Huey and Angelina Wilson Foundation, Brown and Root Electrical Company, and ABC ECCR will provide per-employment skills training on motivation, cognitive skills development, Financial Literacy, Abstinence from drugs and Alcohol, and Workforce Development skills in Management, Communication, Supervision, attendance, timeliness, and dress codes. For ages 18- 35-year-old adults who have received a High School Diploma, Graduate Equivalent Diploma, or have some years in college and reside in the North Baton Rouge area.
